What are the benefits of turning 50 years old.
I sit here and wonder to myself, where the hell has all the time gone ? and how did I arrive at being 50 already?.
While most days I wake up feeling like I'm ninety I still feel like that 20 year old full of life inside. Yes sure I occasionally forget where I laid my glasses down only to realize that I am still wearing them atop my head and my eyes are not as good as they use to be and when I hear the word's "say no to crack and it reminds me to pull up my pant's" , I soon start to realize that I am not as young as I once was or think that I am.
I was just thinking about the benefits of turning 50 and so many came to mind. such as...
You quit trying to hold your stomach in no matter who walks into the room.
You sing along with elevator music.
Your eyes won't get much worse.
Your investment in health insurance is finally beginning to pay off.
Your joints are more accurate meteorologists than the national weather service.
Your secrets are safe with your friends because they can't remember them either.
Kidnappers are not very interested in you.
In a hostage situation you are likely to be released first.
No one expects you to run anywhere.
People call at 9:00 PM and ask, "Did I wake you?"
People no longer view you as a hypochondriac.
There is nothing left to learn the hard way.
Things you buy now won't wear out.
You can eat dinner at 4:00 PM.
You can almost live without sex but not your glasses.
You enjoy hearing about other people's operations.
You get into heated arguments about pension plans.
You no longer think of speed limits as a challenge.
Your supply of brain cells is finally down to manageable size.
You can't remember who told you about this list.
You notice these are all in big print for your convenience.
While I have already done so much over the last 50 years, Made some wonderful and good friends that are real everyday honest people , pissed off a few enemies were about as transparent as a glass of water, quelled a few uprisings, fought a few wars and even won a battle or two. Learned half as much as I've forgotten and luckily only forgotten half as much as I've learned... but things that I am most proud in my life are the top of are my best personal life achievements to date..I have 3 beautiful children, Cheyenne, Candace and Riley and a beautiful wife Ina, all of whom will help me remember who they are over the next 50 years...lol
So I really look forward to what the next 50 will hold in store for me.. so let the party begin !
To my friends that just turned or are turning 50 this year.. all the best wishes and who the hell are you anyways ? hahahah...

I stumbled across this. I love it. 50 is certainly not old, but it is "getting on".. and somehow it's comforting to know that you're in good company.
ReplyDeleteThanks.
